“The Scriptures teach that the original man was a direct result of a creative act of God. Being the masterpiece of creation, man was created in the image and likeness of God as a tripartite being, consisting of spirit, soul and body. God created man to have a relationship with Him, to be made into His image and likeness, to share in His function of dominion and to be fruitful and reproduce Himself. Though the entrance of sin seemed to frustrate God’s purpose for man in creation, this purpose will be accomplished through redemption.” The Foundations of Christian Doctrine, Kevin J Connor
“Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
Genesis 1:26-30 NKJV
And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so.”
“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
The LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed.”
Genesis 2:7-8 NKJV
“And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. And Adam said:
“This is now bone of my bones, And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.” Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.”
Genesis 2:21-25 NKJV
Thus begins the testimony of Scripture regarding the origins and purpose of mankind.
This Biblical testimony has been accepted by God’s followers for generations, and is embraced by the law, the prophets, and by Jesus and His disciples throughout Scripture.
Moses himself penned these lines of Genesis, and confirmed his convictions with numerous genealogies reaching all the way back to the original man Adam.
“This is the book of the genealogy of Adam. In the day that God created man, He made him in the likeness of God. He created them male and female, and blessed them and called them Mankind in the day they were created.”
Genesis 5:1-2 NKJV
David also declares His appreciation of God’s creative act, and of man’s exalted place in the scheme of God’s creation:
“When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels [Heb: Elohim], And You have crowned him with glory and honor. You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, All sheep and oxen – Even the beasts of the field, The birds of the air, And the fish of the sea That pass through the paths of the seas. O LORD, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth!”
Psalm 8:3-9 NKJV
Jesus Himself evidently accepted these first chapters of Genesis as literal historical records:
“And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’”
Matthew 19:4 NKJV
As did Paul the Apostle, whose entire framework of redemptive theology was based upon the historicity of these events:
“Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned— Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come. For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.) For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.”
Romans 5:12,14,17,19 NKJV
“For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.”
1Timothy 2:13-14 NKJV
The integrity of the redemptive efficacy of Christ’s death and resurrection rests upon the historical reality of these early events. What we are presented with in the early chapters of Genesis are not fairytales, allegories or parables of man’s origins, but historical accounts dictated by the only One equipped to do so because He was actually there to witness them, the Holy Spirit Himself.
To reject these chapters and their accuracy historically is to reject the entire basis of our gospel message! Trusting the Genesis account is not a side-issue. And to embrace evolutionary concepts, thus rejecting the account presented in Genesis, undermines our trust in and the authority of all Scripture.
The Origin of Man – False Theories
he world has largely embraced a hypothesis called evolution, which places our origin many millions of years ago, as the result of chance processes of nature. Mankind is, by all accounts, no more than a clever animal – a naked ape! This version of history is taught in our schools and colleges as scientific fact (which it is certainly not!), espoused by museums, and permeates entertainment and educational programming. The following pictures from museum displays are typical, and blatantly deny God’s Truth:
School textbooks are replete with unsubstantiated statements like the following:
“Look closely at your hand. You have five flexible fingers. Animals with five flexible fingers are called primates. Monkeys, apes, and humans are examples of primates….Primates most likely evolved from small, insect-eating rodentlike mammals that lived about 60 million years ago.” Holt, Rinehart, & Winston, Biology – Visualizing Life, 1998, p. 213.
“But all researchers agree on certain basic facts. We know, for example, that humans evolved from ancestors we share with other living primates such as chimpanzees and apes.” Miller and Levine, Biology, 2000, p. 757.
Prehistoric Man Hoax and the Evolution Lie
We present here a brief history of some of the more significant discoveries that have been pronounced as outright proof of such speculation as to our origins, but which have subsequently been proven by science to be false or misinterpreted. Many of the usual suspects paraded before the class today are the very characters so popularized in illustrations like these ones:
We will be looking at the following ‘missing links’ in man’s history and surmising from the evidence presented whether they are substantial ‘proof’ for our family tree or not:
- Lucy and the Australopithecines
- Ramapithecus
- Java Man
- Nebraska Man
- Piltdown Man
- Neanderthals
For more detailed information regarding the history of these finds see http://www.answersingenesis.org/home/area/overheads/TOC.asp for many resources including detailed powerpoint presentations and other illustrations.
Our purpose here is simply to establish in the mind of the student the unsubstantial and often overtly biased evidence used to promote a religion called Humanistic Evolution, which rejects the clear teaching of Scripture.
Take a look at the ‘evidence’ that was discovered, the so-called evolutionary ancestors of mankind they were concocted and presented to the world as. This is NOT science. In fact, it is a blatant unscientific hoax of the highest degree.
